Today was a pretty good day of fishing. We had to go to the truck once becuase of the lightning. It rained for quite a while, but we still managed to catch our limit with several hours of daylight left. Here are few pics of the fish that my dad, tommy-n, and I caught.

Good work on the slabs. Very nice. What were you using for bait, if you don't mind me asking?

That is a fine mess of gills there. They only way they would look better is fried up with a pile of taters next to um on a plate.

I've read a lot of tommy-n's posts over the past few seasons, and from what I can gather an 11" bluegill isn't that out of the ordinary for them.

thank you for the compliment Rich P:) Last year I got 8 that went 10 1/2'' -10 3/4'' but no 11's the year before that two 11's Been holding out for a 12'' gill but seems pretty hard to acomplish. We have gotten some 12'' redears out of sleeply hollow and silver lake over the years but never a 12'' regular gill from anywhere;)

In my experience, the only people who would even consider answering this question would be lunatics, disgruntled fishing partners, or those who didn't have to work to find their spots.

yep. Just do a search on the DNR website for master angle gills that have been entered last 4 years, and you'll find some lakes to target. A little leg work and research can save alot of gas, time, and give you self satisfaction of finding your own honey hole.(which may be someone elses, but you wouldn't know by finding on your own)

Not everyone enters the fish they catch for a master angler award:D You are right on doing your homework and finding your own spots though. The problem with telling someone where you were is there may only be parking for 10 cars or something and when you go there again there's no room for yourself:lol:
alot of people want something for nothing, there is nothing more rewarding than finding your own spot and figuring out your own program. I have logged alot of miles hunting and fishing and spent alot of time looking at map books ect. sometimes you just have to take chances to find new spots and don't always go to the forsure thing. sometimes it pays off and sometimes it don't, I still get burned on alot of new spots, but you'll never know until you try. Just my two cents, good luck and where's the cold weather.

Great job on the Gills...It's obvious you've done your homework and have found a honey hole....do your self a favor and keep it as YOUR honey hole...It's amazing how many people love to get fish without having to put in the legwork or time like you have!!;)
