I did okay yesterday out there and was going out after work to give it one more shot. Ice looks like its thick enough to stay around a day or two.

It's currently 63 degrees (smashing the record of 57 set in '89) and here in SCS our ice is going to crap in a hurry. I haven't driven up to the 16 mile area, but in the areas around 9 to 11 mile, the ice doesn't look safe and isn't gonna hold out much longer. It's only supposed to get down to 52 tonight, and then back up to 60 tomorrow (tues.) with rain and a good chance of a thunderstorm. Close to 50 again on Weds. Bye-bye ice.:( Break the boats out!:)

fished a marina south of nine mile. the ice was slippery and melting. the ice cracked big time as we walked back to our cars. now the good stuff. the fish were finicky and wanted minnows. I stunk today and could only manage a few on my rapala plus a few sunfish and 1 12 inch largemouth. the 2 guys with me managed a few more and 20 went home.no real big fish either. we only fished an hour or 2 because the trip off the ice was getting dangerous. one of us managed to break thru and got a bit wet but it was right at shore. we had a good 3-4 inches of ice ,but melting fast. thats my last trip for a while.

went out and it was much cooler at the water. ice was 4-6 inches. it was very foggy. i didn't do squat. i couldn't see much in the fog, and I didn't have a compass so I stuck to shore. There were guys out there who did limit out on smaller 7-8 inchers. water was cloudy.
