Took a trip on saturday with my dad and brother to a spot that my dad has been fishing for a couple years now (my dad's secret location, sorry fella's). We didn't get on the ice until around 10am or so. Everything was set and I was the first one fishing, as usual and have the 3 gills on the ice. The fishing was slow, but soon my brother had 5 on the ice. I showed him mine and he about flipp'd out. I went over and look'd at his, they were about half the size of mine, lol. My first three were around 7"-9" It took dada bout 2hrs to get on the board, but when he did, it was about 8"

It took awhile, but the way the action was, we got out of the shanties, popped about 20holes and just started hopping from hole to hole. IT took all day to get the fish that we got. Dad said that it was alot slower than his previous two trips out there. We were fishing in anywhere from 15' FOW all the way down to 30 someodd FOW. Fish were that scattered.

Gonna keep it short, just woke up, and I could ramble on and on. All fish were taken on a Hali and waxie. Tried a few other tear drops and plastics but couldn't get them to go. Ice was 8" total, with about 2" of white ice on top of 6" of good clear ice.

I have a pic of the gills that I caught just before the "real" job started on my cell phone, but can't get them onto the comp. I ended up with 20 gills, my dad around 15 and my brother around 20

It was sure nice to get out on the ice before this warm weather hit full force. Now, it will be just a waiting game for the ice to form and/or tighten back up
