Well finally got out to do some fishing.....started off S of the spillway..fished 2 hrs for 3 fish. Couldnt get to where i wanted to be.....late season duck hunters got there first...dang.
Ice was crap.....4" and very soft..nobody fishing in the spillway itself.
off to hit a canal up by cotten...hopefully better there.

Went out off of cotten and gave it a shot...Nothing happening there. Water was really murkey, less than a foot of visability. Only seen a couple fish caught and they were few and far inbetween. Ice was pretty iffy in spots
Went and hit up a canal...did better, but not great. A few 7 or 8" perch and a nice pumpkinseed that hit a perch minnow.
Finished off the day at ginos......Alot of guys in the marina to the N, but they had to be walking in from land....the ice at the mouth of the marina isnt safe...racheted up the pucker factor a couple of notches trying to walk in there. Went and wandered around the lake for an hour (ice was still in good shape out there) caught about 20 dinks and 3 more keepers. Talked to a couple guys and they weren't doing any better.
Grand total for the day.....13 perch and the pumpkinseed. Think it works out to about $5 a fish  Cheap Therapy!!!!

That's probably a wise move.... but, I'm kinda stupid that way though.
Heck, I was wearing my waders today. Worked great in all the slop, just glad I didn't have to leak test them :D

It was "pucker-time" for sure around the spillway:yikes:. Had a good time fishing with you guy's..... we'll do it again for sure. I'm hoping 55 degrees melts ALL this ice so I can put my boat in for a day or two..... I'm sure that is not a popular opinion though:evil:.

I came close today, but there was still some thick ice floating dow the river up here, so it's not worth damaging my boat.

If my aluminum wasn't out of comission, I wouldn't have thought twice about it. But the Skeeter is another story. I was thingink of hitting the deep end of the dumping grounds with some sweedish pimples and minnows, or something along those lines. I know that slow is the way to go this time of year. I was basically gonna try ice tactics from the boat where the walleye might be. Even if I have to do some searching, it's January for god sakes! If I catch one or two I'll be happy.:)

Amen brotha! If it clears enough I'll see if I can interest Scott to tag along as well. I believe he has your number. I am not that worried about a little ding in the Lowe..... Titanic action would piss me off a bit though!

Matt! I'm in. It's 63 degrees right now and the ice is going out with a quickness! 60 again tomorrow with t-storms! And with 50 on Weds., I gotta believe there'll be a ramp open somewhere. We might have to push a little ice away from the ramp, but I think we can find an opening. There's a flood watch in effect for the Clinton as well, so we should be receiving a huge influx of water. The water levels gotta be creeping up a little bit and should be easier to ramp than the conditions we were ramping in back in November. I got Derek's number. We'll come up with something. We need to start our first pass at the Sturgeon hole first.;)

Just make sure you follow Ed Michrinas words of wisdom and make sure you bring a 2X4 with you to break that path out to the river and help push any iceburgs away from you !!;)

RJT and myself jigged a deep hole like that in the summer on the SCR. It was tough to feel the bottom to say the least. Even with a 3/4oz jig. They felt like they weighed a pound not 3/4oz.
