Methods for taking your bear

I am hoping to call one in, I have called in some varmints before but have never had the opporunity to do it in bear country. I was just wondering what everyone else planned on for tagging their bruin.

I have seen a video on this type of bear hunting but have never tried it.I am not sure it would work so well in Michigan because of the landscape.On the video i haqd seen they would stalk there bears when they would see them they would start calling.I think most of the video was filmed in Montana,there was lots of open meadows that they would glass till they spotted there bear then start calling.But good luck and hope it works.Its all new to me i hunt over baits and have hunted behind hounds.Let us know how it works.

I use bait. Killed my first one with rifle, wanted to use bow for my second but one never offered a shot I liked, so last day I used rifle again. This year I am starting with the bow again. The calling idea sounds exciting, I wonder if you could call the bear back if it is leaving the stand. Are you going to us coyote calls or the call designed for bear. If you own a bear call what sound does it imitate ?

All the videos i have seen they use preditor calls like the squealing rodent and such.It sure seem to work there where they did the videos.

I am fairly new at calling, just last fall I started to get more serious. I get a rush when we get the few coyotes, fox and coons we called in, i can only imagine what a bear would be like. I will probably try either a rabbit distress or a fawn distress with a fawn decoy. I would like to borrow my friends Lohman electric caller, so as to distract the bear from my location. The only think that might not have me trying to call one in is that my brother drew the same tag so he kinda wants to go on a hound hunt, and i did that last year and had a blast. Also if anyone has any pointers for me i would like to hear them. I'm only 20 so I still have alot to learn.
