I agree.

Together we stand; divided we fall.

I do agree. We shouldn't condemn other sportsmen.

Having said that I think it is good for people to know that some honest sprortsmen were being violated by a group of people that had no regard for their property.

I would like to see the honest sportsmen (that partake in that sport that I won't mention) help educate the others about property rights and how that could divide us and erode our hunting rights.

I agree with the above posters. A friend of mine had 2 of his bird dogs caught in an illegal snare set on public land a couple days ago...are either of us against trapping???

Hell no!!!

We absolutely despise violating POS slobs though!!! Too often we subject thousands of fellow sportsmen here on the site to abuse because of the illegal action of some redneck poaching SOB's.

The arguments that result here are between 2 groups of ethical sportsmen while the slobs are out breaking the law!

This is why the future of Michigan as a Sportsman friendly state is doomed.

I'l stand up and defend anybody's right to hunt with what ever method they chose as long as it is legal, but the minuet you start violating the law and the rights of others I'l do anything I can to make sure it come's to an end. It's bad enough we have to worry about anti hunting groups like peta and the Humane society but I think it's worse when "slob hunters" ruin it for everybody else.

It is a shame that we cannot voice our opposition or disgust in certain areas where people are slobs or lack any general manners when it comes to others persons and or properties.

I believe we can, and have done so many times.... however, we need to watch how it is said... that particular post made it look like any one hunting with dogs was the same way.... I don't particularly like be lumped in with them. I don't condemn all deer hunters because I have had many cross my property, or the fact I have had some even try and kick me off my own property.....
I wish there was a way to get after these hunters and get them to conform to the laws and be respectful sportsman.... but that would be like me asking you to tell that guy on my property not to do that.... you think they would listen?

They only want to hear what they want to hear=Moderators.I have had my post lock because of a moderator putting his 2 cents in on a post and then me reply to him and LOCK by another Mod.I guess its ok for 6 Dogs to kill 2 in Howell. But God forbid us talking about it the other way.I guess Dogs have more rights then we do.I guess Censorship lives.Just control the butt sniffers and all would be good.Mich

I disagree. As important as it is to stay united, there are issues that concern us as hunters on the table. A policy like that would most likely prevent any discussions about baiting, dogs, deer management, crossbows, Nugent, season date, limits, etc. These are all legitimate subjects that are of interest of Michigan hunters, and hiding them will do us no good. For the most part these issues can be discussed in a civil manner and not be closed or deleted. A poster needs to state their opinion (pro/con/neutral) without endorsing illegal behavior, or insulting the other posters who disagree. I will admit that some of these controversial threads do get shut down sooner than others, just for the simple fact they almost always end up with the same results.

The internet is a big place with many outdoor sites, I'm sure there's one out there that you would be happy with.

We have to be able top discuss the things being mentioned without locking.

BUT the truth sometimes hurts. If it hurtsso bad that one cannot control their posts and keep them civil then perhaps they need locking.

Good post.....I think you 100% correct.

Being a mod is a job I would not want.

I do feel the trigger is pulled to quick on some of the topics. Lets delete the bad post or warn the poster. It makes the forum look a little to restrictive. Airing problems in the outdoors can have a positive outcome.
