I was just listening to TV8 news -grand rapids- while checking around MS here.
There was a story the past few days about a 15 yr. old that shot his 10yr. brother they assume by accident.

http://www.woodtv.com/global/story.asp?S=7567854

Well this was a follow-up story and i just heard Ann Schieber say at the end of her report.....

"They are really trying to find out why the family would have a 20 gauge shotgun in the house.... It might be because in some areas of Mich. you can not shoot a rifle so that might explain why they would have a shotgun in the home...."

WHAT???

I swear some of the people that report on things ,Especially guns, hunting and shooting sports , Have NO clue to what they are talking about!!

Who writes this crap??

A couple of months ago, also on ch. 8, some chick reported that the suspect used a .22 gauge rifle...

I know not everyone is gun savvy, but if its your job as a reporter, do some damn research and try to get things at least close to right!!!

You hit the nail on the head,THEY HAVE NO CLUE!!!!!!Also, the only way gun's make the news,is in a bad light.I'm shocked that they did'nt say it was an "assault shot-gun"

Did everyone email them as I did explaining their mistake??? I do that with any news agency that reports incorrect info. especially about hunting/fishing/guns etc.

Remember when VP Dick Chainey shot his buddy quail hunting. The news stated he shot him with a 28ga then poured out a 12ga buckshot load to show the viewers. If that was the case i don't think he would have recovered. I wish the media would not be so wacked out.

It is sad to hear about the boy though...

What else can you expect with a liberal dominated media. You would think they would know what country they are in. You know the 2nd amendment and all that!!!!
