Water Issue?

Recently while fishing a small inland lake by our house, I noticed the water coming up from a freshly augered hole was pink in color. After being exposed to the air, the water on top of the ice turned green/brown. I am assuming it is some sort of algae but not sure. Anyone else ever see this?

Im not sure but a small lake that my bro and i fished in last week had some red stuff in it as well. I was thinking it was some kind of algae but not sure really. No matter where we drilled holes that crap was in the hole.
