The jobs we did snow removal on had about 1" to 1 1/2" by 9 Mile and Jefferson and up to 2 inches at 14 Mile and Jefferson. The further west the more snow and by 9 Mile and I-75 there is 3 to 3 1/2" on the walks and driveways.
So this little snow storm should not have much of an effect on the ice or ice formation.

Cotton Road area only got about 2.5 inches of snow on the ground and the lake is mostly covered with wet blotches so when it does freeze there will not be much snow on the ice.

got a boatload in royal oak, waterford and rochester. i counted about a dozen cars spun off 75 between 696 and m59. on 59 i saw one guy spin out and a bunch more already in the ditch. i actually got stuck getting in and out of a driveway on a dirt road in rochester, i had to shovel there driveway and about 50 ft of the road to get out, having a rear wheel drive caprice wagon didn't help things along!

Yea this snow may stop the ice making on the lakes and the warm temperatures this weekend and next week are going to hurt the ice alot
