Jan 10 - 13 at Rock Financial Showplace (Novi Expo Center). I plan on going Friday 1/12 during the day to try and dodge the weekend crowds.

Been to it before a couple of times,I thought the show was a ripoff personaly.I didnt see many good deals on anything I couldnt live without.

I know 2 vendors so I usually get a free pass. I agree its nothing you can't live without but its one of the things that breaks up the winter for me.

I'll be working it at the LSCWA booth sat. with Hotwired....last year I thought it was actually pretty good with some good baits at a descent price and some good info on some boats and additional items! A good time during the winter to help get you fired up for another year of fishing!!

I've never been either. My dad and uncle are interested in going so I think I'll be checking it out with them.

There is no way to make the show a 100 % perfect experience for everyone. So, I look at it as if "it is what we make of it for ourselves". There might not be the lures we wanted or whatever but with a bit of looking around we can find that there are a lot of good and fun people to talk to. Stories to hear and fishing or boating tips to find out about.

I went for the first time last year had a good time picked up a radke pike minnow, yet to use it but was sold on it

The wife has promised me once she's into the field she's going to school for....I can get a new boat!....I've yet to tell her I'll be keeping this one also!!:evil:

I'll definately be there at 2 on thurs.I enjoy the free samples of chew and my kids love the trout pond and dog jumping.

Something to do and there usually are some baits you hadn't seen before. All the big reps so you can play with all the new Lowrance products, etc as well. KD Outdoors has a great booth as does LSCWA. What might seem a rip off to some is a great day in the relm of our favorite past time for the rest of us.

Don't forget all the seminars on all the different species of fish. I am giving away a free day for two casting for Muskie on Anchor Bay at my 8 PM seminar on Lake Ultimate. KVD speaks before me at 7 PM. Plus there are other lures etc. to be given away. KD Sports is also donating something to the drawing. I was very disappointed with the Novi Show and the Grand Rapids show. The Lansing show was so bad, I decided I would never go again.

Ken’s booth was the only one that had a lot of diversity and even he did not bring all his jigs with him. I guess I’ll just have to take a trip to his shop.

If you were looking for a fishing boat, there was some diversity but I saw no really good deals. I saw very little innovative stuff, but did buy a knife sharpener that looked promising but after I got home, I found it didn’t work as well as the one I have.

The time at the fishing pond was too short and they only allowed you to keep one fish. My grandson wanted to catch one for his mom and one for his dad. We had to go twice. Jake went into the rain room to try the rain suit and played the fishing game twice and climbed the mountain. Maybe the mountain was in G. Rapids.

I had money in my pocket when I came and had a list of things I was interested in, but only purchased the sharpener. I suspect the little guys with innovative stuff are priced out or maybe the guys who run the show know little about fishing and are just doing it to earn a buck.

I picked up some pretty cool spinner blades last year at the Novi show. I saw the new Starcraft walleye boat and awsome new Starcraft center console. Also a few fishing rod manufactures that make some pretty sweet jigging rods. It is nice to see the Romanacks. Mark Romanacks wife always has something cool for me to buy. Last year was the big lake trolling edition of crankbaits in-depth. Cool stuff! Bob "Musky Boxer Brunner is always good for a fish story or two.

My crawler harness supplier is a vendor there so I use the opportunity to stock up for the coming summer and its nice to mingle and shoot the breeze with fellow outdoorsman.
I was planning on going Friday but I may have to go Saturday now so I can stop by the LSCWA booth and introduce myself to Hotwired and Houghton Laker and thank them in person for making me a better Walleye fisherman :D
