Got a Jiffy STX Pro last week. Got it all gassed up and it wouldnt start it fired up for about 1 sec then nothing after that. I let it sit over night then went out and messed with the choke. Just turned out the choke was real touchy. the thing is always a pain in the ass to start. it starts up and stalls. Well yesterday me and friends went out to woodland . I drilled a few holes to check, once i got on some fish I went to fire it up to drill a couple more holes so we could set up the shanty. It did the usual fire up for 1 second, flip the choke over to half it runs for about 30second and then stalls again so I give it a yank(Yes i kept my cool) all of a sudden im standing there with a auger that isnt running and the pull cord in my hand [/rant]

Duck-Hunter i have a Jiffy too, when you fix the pull cord(No pun intended) does it have a primer bulb on it , if it does dont choke it at all pump the bulb 8 or 10 times and pull it and if it sounds like it's gonna stall pump the bulb a couple times and it should keep runningand repeat if necessary..If you keep choking it,its gonna keep fouling out the plug....
Give it a shot....

I just picked up the same unit and it's run like a champ from the get go. We've sold tons of them thru the shop over the years, with very few problems. Still, there have been a few that were bad right off the bat. Contact the place you bought it from first. You're supposed to send it to Jiffy for something like that, but the place you got it from may be willing to deal with it for you.

the carbs probly not set right. we have two jiffy legends and the carb settings were set to low we had to adjust them. they run great now. you will probly have to adjust ur high and low speed screws to get it to run right.most jiffys have that problem. also mix ur gas with jiffys smokeless 2-cycle oil it might help.

With just about anything machanical in the world, your gonna have your lemons, even with a great product. I'd try to exchange if possible, sounds like you may have one of those that will give you problems throughout your future. Best to try and get a better one from the get go.
