Ok I finally bought one. I am at the last step where you pull the material over the tub lip and put the molding strip over it to hold it to the tub and then shoot the screws through it to the tub. First off I wonder if you really need to shoot the screw through it which is obviously going to put holes through the ice armor material as well. Second it says to pull it down so the front porch arm lifts slightly 1/2 inch or so off the ground? I remember reading something about this before and guys would have pull it down and lifted the rail too high and when they went to use it in the cold versus their heated assembly area in their house/garage. I have pulled down just enough to go over the lip and out the edge of the trim molding when pushed over the lip. What has everyone's experience been on this one? Finally, looking to make one seat a quick removal deal to lessen weight when heading out on my own. Wondered if anyone has done so with some type of pins that a cotter key would go through and then allow easy removal and replacement? Thanks for your advice gilly..........

I only put screws at the ends of the molding strip, at the back corners of the tub and at the center of the back of the tub.

If you put the molding in hot water for five minutes and then put it on the tub it goes a lot easier.

Install the cover like the manual says, otherwise it's really loose and flops in the wind, and you'll burn holes in it in no time at all.

Look at the fishing improvements thread at the top of this forum and take a look at the PVC spreaders I made for my Fish traps, it takes care of the problem of the slack in the cover and forces the bottom down to the ice keeping a lot of the wind out.

Good luck.

I used to leave the screws out as well, but the cover moving in the wind makes it come loose from the molding after a while and it's not a lot of fun when that happens.
