Wanted waterfront (stream or lake) in NW Michigan

I am looking for property in the Kalkaska, Grand traverse, Antrim area.

Heres the story...
My wifes father lives in Ashville NC. He wants to buy some land and build a log cabin for his girls (Three sisters) as an inheritance.
We have made several trips up, been on the TAAR list and multi-list for several months looking for the "right" piece of property to put a log cabin on.

We havent been able to find what we are looking for so I thought I would ask here.

The Girls want water.

It doesent matter if its big or not but would like at least an acre. We have looked at land on the Boardman, Rapid and Cedar rivers. Had one piece fall through on the boardman river because of wetland issues.

If anyone knows of something other than what is on the multi-list in the areas mentioned I would be very interested in hearing you. A finders fee would be paid if the piece is purchased.

I know this doesn't fit your parameters exactly but just in case. We have 8.74 acres on the Pine River in Osceola county near Tustin, approx 45 minutes to Traverse City. The property is approx 550' by 700' and the river splits the acreage with 800' of frontage on both sides of the water. It is an absolutely pristine and beautiful setting. I am a licensed builder and have been building a home here over the last 5 years, approx 85 percent completed. If you would like more info please reply, if not good luck! Have you tried the Spider Lake area?

Hi. Your Pine River property sounds very interesting. This is an area I'm looking in, but I'm not really looking for a house with it. Can you share your address or location more accurately? Are you aware of anything else in the area?
