Well, today I got my first buck. I must've saw 60 deer by 9:20, which is when this guy snuck up on me. I decided I would take him and waited for him to come out into an opening at 22 yds. I let the mathews drenalin do her thing and boy oh boy did the G5 striker eat. He didn't go 25 yds. Good blood the whole way (not that I needed to track him.) After I gutting I noticed that it looked like I clipped a part of each lung and destroyed the heart. 2 more days of the season left, 1 tag to go, hopefully I can fill it.

besides a button buck, this is my first buck. I passed on a couple 1.5 yr olds earlier in the season (two being 5/6 points), I needed some more meat so I took this guy, but probably should've let him go, but i'm happy with it. This is really the first of 4 deer that I can say i'm honestly happy with the shot I put on him.

Great job...I shot a spiker this bow season too because my hunting time was so limited but next year I'm going to scout harder and hold out for something nice. If I don't see anything by late season, I'll shoot does and let the smaller bucks grow.

Don't feel the need to apologize for the legal harvest of a fine buck. Congratulations to you. It's kinda cool how he fell on your front lawn too.

Ya it made loadin him in the truck a whole lot easier, dragging wasn't much of a problem either. Mom yelled at me for the gut pile near the mailbox though.

the exit hole from that G5 Striker (which I got free from their promotional deal in the summer) really gives me confidence. I wasn't sure how those broadheads would perform, but they've taken two deer so I think i'll stick with them for a while.
