FUGGLES

I am planning a trip up to Charlevoix this weekend and was wondering if anybody had any general info on the Jordan river. I am a full blown fly fisherman and would love to get into some fish up there. Also I wanted to spend a day at the St Marys Rapids and was curious if there were any Atlantics left or if some Pinks have started to show. Thanks in advance and e-mail me directly if you like.

Scott-I can't help you too much with info on the St. Mary's, but it's still a little early yet for pinks, everything up here is still running a couple of weeks behind, so I would think the Atlantics are still out on the big water, too. A few kings, maybe.
The Jordan was treated with TFM for lamprey larvae on the 24th, so before you do much there, stop by Tom's Bait and Tackle in East Jordan and ask Tom what the word is. There's a fly fishing shop downtown on the west side of the street next to the Roundtable restaurant as well.
If the Jordan's down for the count, which it may be and probably is for fly hatches, remember the hoppers are happening and try portions of the Cedar or upper reaches of the Boyne or Manistee...
have fun,
