Anyone know of a good sale on jet sleds? I know last year gander mountain had the $40.00 sled for $25.00, but I was to late. I don't even see them at gander this year. I wonder if they will get any in?

Thanks

the otter sled is a better quality sled then the jet sled in my opinion. My buddy has the jet and I the otter, and the otter is a more rigid stronger plastic again my opinion

I got one up at Frank's in Linwood. They sell the ones that Shapell thinks are flawed. Makes them cheaper and I didn't see anything wrong with it. I use the XL version that sells for $70, the flawed XL and bought for $40.

I bought two lightly used ones last spring from a guy that "needed the money" (split from the wife) for $10 each.....

Traded one for a neat little ice fishin' seat with the notorious STEINFISHKI and another went to JJ Mac to replace his other jet sled before the bottom ground off @ 70 MPH behind his badazz quad.
;)

IF I was a greedier man , I would have p!mped 'em out on eBay.....

I have a Junior for my baby truck...LOL

Go with an otter sled. Better quality and alot thicker.

I have the Jet Sled XL from Franks. I think I paid $60 a few years ago. I put some homemade nylon runners and tow bar on it and haul anything from fishing gear to deer and firewood with it. Runners on any sled you choose will last forever for icefishing.

I will be making a purchase in the next week or two. I like the otter sleds but I'm not sure there worth the extra $. If I were to tow the sled with a qaud perhaps the otter would be worth it. It more than likely weighs a little more? than the jet sled? Thanks for all helpfull info.

For what its worth--either will pull behind any machine at any speed. Had the jet sled up to 45-50 mph with no problems. Had all my equipment in it with shanty on top. A good hitch setup is the key to keeping it straight behind you. Good luck in your search.

I have both sleds, and if you are using it to pull gear, or haul deer then I would get a jet sled because the otter is heavier and harder to pull. If I were going to pull it mostly behind a four wheeler, then I would get the otter as it is heavier duty. Good luck

I called 2 gander stores in Grand Rapids today. They no longer sell the jet sleds, it sounds like their only going to carry the otters. One of the guys I spoke with on the phone said, today was the cut off day for ice fishing gear, what they have is what you get. May have to order the jet on-line.

Forgot to add , Meijer & Walmart are carrying the Viking sleds - very similar to the Shapell's.
