I bought a Frabill shanty a month ago and set the thing up tonight and it has a 3 inch crack/hole in one of the windows. This is the second time I used the shanty. Anyone think they will take it back for an exchange? I bought it at Frank's in Linwood if that matters. Oh and the fishing report, Wixom Lake fished two hours with two bites. Nothing landed. Slow night.

The store probably won't take it back but Frabil should. Call them Franks before you take it back, to save you a trip.

I know with clam as soon as you set it up you cannot take it back to the dealer(Piece of paper stating that)

I would contact Frabill and ask them.

Don't know about Frabill, but Shappell certainly does. Bought a DX3000 at Meijers, used it twice and the zippers both totally crapped out. Sent them an E-mail, 2 days later had a brand new cover sitting on my porch waiting for me when I got home. Can't hurt to contact them.

Do Ice Shanties have any Warranty?
Most of them should. It will be explained in the paperwork that was in the package when you first opened it up. Have that ready and have the receipt handy when you call them.

I do remember that Shapell had a 1 year warranty on my shanty but there was a very limited warranty on the windows. The windows might not even have been covered.

Franks wont take it back, all they will do is give you a contact number of the manufacturer, if it were within 90 days, then maybe..

Although i've taken things back there and they've honored it.. But however i'm a preferred customer....:lol::lol:

I've had a few issues with both the Fish traps and the Otters over the years....By calling the company I've never had a problem with them just going ahead and shipping me the new part needed!! May be a little bit trickier with it being a cover problem!!

I would call Franks first. Might save you alot of hassel dealing with the company itself. Dont know how Frabills customer service is first hand but I know Franks will do all they can to make it right for their customers.

This is one of the main reasons that I shop at Cabela's(almost exclusively),,,,,,, any problem with pretty much ANYTHING and they'll take it back.

Frabill has pretty good customer service I purchased a flip over from Bass Pro and it was missing a couple of the windows and a bracket and they shipped the items to me about 3 days and didn't ask for any paper work just ask where I purchased it .

I got a bad Ice Cube shanty from Sam's Club last year (one of the poles was cracked). Did not even get a chance to use it until this year. Took it back today (w/o a reciept) and they actually gave me a newer version on the returned shanty.

Thanks guys, I called Franks and they told me to call Frabill. Gonna call Tomorrow. Guy at Franks said he was about 100% positive Frabill will send me a new canvas and I will have to send mine back. Hopefully he's right.

Just got off the phone with Frabill. They told me sorry but there is no warranty on the windows in an ice shanty. She told me they can make me a new window and send it to me for $15. Wasn't to happy about it. I think I will just use clear tape for now. That shanty might be the last Frabill shanty I ever buy.

I sure hope you told them that. When I get crappy service like that I make sure they know I am not happy about it AND that I will be telling anyone who will listen about my experince with their poor customer service. They should have fixed that! One suggestion I might add is trying to call back and see if a different rep will take care of the issue. I have found with some companies not all problems are handled the same way.
