Just wondering how the ice conditions were up on Otsego. Headed up there the 27th for a few days and thinking about trying a little fishing up there. Also, is there any public access to Big and Little Bradford Lakes? Thanks and Merry Christmas to all!

There is an access at Big Bradford but I have never had much luck at either lake. (I fish mainly for Gills) Get a local map and maybe try Opal,Emerald or one of the other smaller lakes in the area. Good luck!

Fished Otsego with my Brother in Law on the 28th and 29th of December. For the first time we did pretty well. There was 8 inches of solid ice so that was very nice! We found the fish in about 10-15 fow north of the state park.

On the 28th we brought home 3 perch and a walleye. My first on a rod and reel through the ice. ( I caught one a long time ago on a tip-up) My Brother in law also caught a nice sized large mouth bass that we threw back. We saw quite a few eye's on the aqua view, a sturgeon, and 2 nice pike.

On the 29th we hit the same area and caught around 20 perch, and kept 13 of the best sized ones. Only saw one eye this day, along with 1 sturgeon and no pike.

Minnows were best, but I managed about 4 or 5 on waxies. Great time out there and can't wait to try it again. I'll try to add a few pics later on!

I took a rode trip up there yesterday, I wanted to go to Bradford but only 1 set of prints going out 30-40 yrds. and back it`s only a couple ft. deep there so I did`nt venture out farther, ended up on Margarethe (sorry Mushy1 it was a last minute trip) 3 walleye 18-20", 9 big gills and God knows how many dink perch. New Years Dinner, butterfly tender loins with mushrooms and onions and walleye, the ultamate "surf and turf". HAPPY NEW YEARS, MIKE

Is Margerethe down by Grayling? If so, how far off of the exit? I've heard good things about that lake. Maybe next time we're up there we'll drive down from waters to try it out.

Thanks,

Grayling exit, west on 72 stop at Skips bait shop, Lk. is about 2-3 miles out on the south side, lot of small perch but usually can get a meal if you put your time in. MIKE
