Here it goes lol. So right now i only have 3 boxes out because we were supposed to get snow(didnt happen). So i go and check my boxes 2 are about 8 miles away from our house and one is on our land.

First off i get to the one box is showed a pic of on my other thead and i go to check it and make sure it is still set. Im walking and all is fine then all of a sudden i drop. I fell in a hole now my knee high boots are filling with water and it is cold water  :help: My leg is stuck Im rolling around on the ground like a turtle on its back. The whole time im thinking a fat man shouldnt go down like this. I finnaly manage to get my leg out and crawl back to my truck.

^^^^ What is that you ask.
That would be the next supprise i had waiting for me.

I get back by my house and i check the box on our land. As i pull up to it im just thinking it would be nice to get one. Well i had one in the box but he was still alive .
As i pulled up i seen this white head poke out of the box so im like what the heck(said a few choice words i cant use here). The darn thing jumps out of the box stands up on its hind legs and stares me down. He ducks back in the box the whole time im looking for something to thump him with. The darn thing sticks his head back out the box again as i am getting out of the truck and just stares me down.I have my thumped in hand(mini mag) as i make my way to the box he runs towards me. Im not scared of much but the look in his eyes was enough to make me drop my thumper and step back. He runs back in the boxs plot thickens.

:idea:Hmm now what to do im thinking about letting the dog out on him at this point she is ready to go to. I found another thumper and made my way to the box again this time it was bigger. Just as i started to put my foot over the hole that darn thing shot out of that box and ducked in to a tunnel. All i seen was the black tip of the tail :16suspect.

Darn thing after all of that he got away  :banghead3 :irked:.

So i came home empty handed and wet from the knees down.

It was one of the best days i have ever had running my weasel traps :dizzy:

Yea some how i got him by one back leg. You know how long these things are it is truly amazing how far the can stretch when they are angry. Have you ever heard the shriek of one of these lil devils?

It was really sketchy there for a min trying to figure out how to grab the box with him looking like a jack in the box and popping out.

It is always around 1 weasel for every 2 weeks here for some reason.

I know Jr got a nice fisher right down the road from my house and he said he has been seeing a couple foxes along with a cat around. I need to get ahold of him and go out with him and do some calling.

Great story and photos!!!!

An old trapper once told me that if a weasel was the size of a rabbit he would not dare to go into the woods!

Oz. for oz. these little guys are not doubt the tuffest critters in the woods. Next to our little Silky Terrier Tanner :D.
