Went out on a limb last night, bored, @ 11:40p, and headed out to ice fish a while, on a lake nearby (PM if int). Set-up my shack not far from launch, didn't feel like walking far, or searching, AT ALL, to 'find fish', just wanted to 'fish', and the ice was only good 3"+, & I wasn't gonna 'mess around' with her too much @ night, she's a big lake (204 acres;)) w/alot of deep water. Was all set-up by 12:20a:dizzy:. I fished 17fow with green weeds, my magic combo last few yrs, set-up the lantern and tip-up (shallower-14fow w/shiner - no hits all night:sad:), & started fising a northland buckshot spoon. Half hour later see fish on vex, feel a good strike, and excitedly haul in...

A Rock Bass! - DAMN!!! - I tought it was a walleye, or at least a big spec!:lol::yikes::gaga:
Caught another smaller one 2 mins later, and that was all the action there was, and I pulled the plug @ 3:05a. But I did put a 'first fish' on my new ice rod/reel, and that's the first fish I ever caught on buckshot spoon, I think it's a good lure.
