Any ice reports around this area?

been out a few times, on private lakes. 4-5 inches of ice on some lakes, and open water on others. This warm up is going to melt it all, maybe around the 1st we'll be able to get back out.

I got out on a private lake in Hanover/Horton area on Christmas Eve. There was about 3"-4" of ice but it varied quite a bit. My foot got wet when I first stepped on the ice due to a lot of run off but the ice was actually pretty good 10' from shore. An inch or so of good clear ice and then layers of frozen snow melt and rain. I was only in about 5 FOW and not far from a warm place so I wasn't overly nervous about going for a dip. Caught my limit of gills in 1h and 5min. Good size fish too. Good Luck

wedn walked out on round lk ice clear 2.5-3" took my time with spud ! actually a little scared -got out to 20 ft looking for perch - ice not clear looked honeycombed just a gill and bass and a slipped disc from bending over once too many ! went to mirror lk 2 guys limited out on gills . 40 min before dark went to same spot they left 10 gills 4 crappies (big daddy 13" crappy ) and 3" ice - probably cant report for 3 days till my back gets better - good luck and go get em!!

Hey LFTG. went to Sand Lake this past Friday. Could have picked a better day. Started raining pretty hard right when I started to walk out. Ice was in great shape though. When I walked out there was about a 2" covering of snow, could see lots of snowmobile tracks everywhere. Several hard whacks witht the spud did not go through. Got out to my spot about 200 yds off shore and drilled my tip up holes, 2" of frozen slush and 3 to 4" of good clear ice. Going to fish Wamplers today I think. Leaving Downriver about 11 or so and fish until a bit after dark.
By the way, no flags in 4 hours, I think the weather really shut them down.

Devil's has about 4" of ice at the public access. Don't venture out too far the ice gets a little shaky but you can get to about 20 feet of water though. The fihing is really slow nobody was catching anything. Tried waxie and minoows.

Well I caught 5 Rock bass and 1 gill in about 90 minutes, then I had to leave. I didnt notice anyone catching anything around the lake either.

got my first walleye thru ice ever ! on mirror lk ! crappies were on a tear! went home with 14 - 8 gills - thru back 10 lost 4-6 all in 20 ft wax worms - glow jigs was still biting when i left 10:00 pm ! was cold no shanty slipped disc prevented lifting it - but not walking out and enjoying the ice for next couple of days before the thaw !

congrats guys on getting out....i have been quiet on here because i have been focusing on the ducks in Ohio waters of lake Erie....yesteday was last day to get out in the layout boat, sooo now my mind switches to ICE!!!

looking forward to fishin with you guys again...

Didn't end up going out yesterday. Couldn't find anyone to go. But I am giong tomorrow, with or without anyone. Leaving my house at 10 or so, think I'll try Wamplers.

Corey, good to see you on here. Did notice that I hadn't seen any of your posts. Will try to take my camera tomorrow so hopefully I catch something to take an actual pic of.

Im heading out to Wamplers or round lake as well tomorrow, i'll be the guy driving a gold suzuki xl7 with california plates, on the ice i'll be in a clam 2000. Stop by and say hi if you see me.

Correction, Ill be out depending on how bad we get hit by this storm thats coming through.

I'm going regardless. I plan on getting up plenty early enough to clear my snow and then I'm out. Should be stopped by morning.
I will be driving a light blue Ford Explorer and I'll have my Shappell DX3000, dark blue.
