Im gonna buy a Les Baer ar15 after the holidays for varminting. Very expensive guns but worth it in my opinion.

I got a Remington 700 sps varmint chambered in .223 in October not super pricey but its still a nice gun. Heavy barrel synthetic stock, Oh yeah I can shoot 1" groups at 200 yards with it also.

It should have it on the box or your owners manual will have it on the back. The owners manual for my describes it as Model 700 SPS Varmint 26" barrel .223, Vented Beavertail Stock.

22-250 and 243 that I use out west for prairie dogging. Great bench guns and accurate too.

heres my gun I love it. Wasnt expensive either I think I paid $450 with a scope and case. Savage model 12 with acutrigger. When I was looking at getting a varmint gun I was actually going to get the .223. I liked it cuz its a pretty good round, and shells arent to bad. Then after I looked at the ballistics and looked at the rounds prices I decided to go with the 22-250.

i also have a remington chamberd in 22-250. but i shoot hand loads. i was able to sight it in for 1-1/2 in. groups at 200 yards of a bench rest. i was'n too happy with it, so i had the barrel layed and tapped in fiber-glass. now i have 1 in. groups at 300. with absolutley NO wind. some of you guys might want to do that too. just a little tid bit for your tackle box.

I use the 9-13 inch on my guns, but the longer ones are available as are shooting sticks.

Tikka tikka tikka. If you cant tell i am a huge tikka fan. I have gotten rid of most of my rugers that i have collected over the years because the tikka is a far superior shooter right out of the box. My .223 i can shoot just about any factory ammo and get less than 1" groups all day long. If i shoot hand loads i can get less than 1/2" groups. And this is with out doing anything other than adding a scope. No trigger work, no stock work, no nothing. You can get a nice tikka t3 lite for under $500 brand new.
