My uncle brought me a japanese made collapsing graphite pole. It is over 15' long and the last small section has what appears to be fly line back glued to the tip but has no eyelets for line. It tapers from about 1 1/4" down to maybe 20 gauge wire.

The only markings are "Power Select" and "Super Fresn" notice the "n" in Fresn and not "Fresh". He seemed to think it was a fishing pole...

The last thickest section is wrapped and painted like a fancy pool stick.

I'm stumped how this could be a fishing pole but he swears that is what it is (he bought it in Japan).

Sounds like a collapsable cane pole to me. My unlce still uses a long cane pole for fishing gills in the spring. No reel, the line is just tied to the end.

We used to use them all the time. Mounted "big" spinning rod eyelets on the end of each section and then mounted a big ol closed face spinning reel near the handle..............what fun that was. We used it for getting gills off the beds. Could cast that thing a mile.............

We had two a 16' and 20'..........

Fished Wabasis lake for 20 years or so - and the Whittenbach boat livery's FIL had a SeaNymph 14R I used to "borrow" from the family occasionally...
Clarence ALWAYS used big old green 'glass cane poles. And he caught some wh0pper bass on them along with scads + scads + scads of big bluegills. I was always encouraged to use the cane poles when I was in Clarence's boat - but opted for our Pinnacle 10' steely rods.
Panfish on a long stEEk are sheer pleasure to capture for sure ; sh00T - - I think it even makes the fish taste better!

I don't know if you're much of a panfish guy Banditto - but USE the thing!!
You'll be hooked.

I am geeked to try it. We have so many panfish under the dock its amazing. People say "gee I haven't seen a lot of panfish in this lake"--ya its because they are under my boat.
