Bird Dogs

This year I intend to buy a dog for upland birds. I have never hunted over a pointing dog, but I am captivated by the beauty of a good point. I have become a religious viewer of "Hunting with Hank" shown on the Outdoor Life Network on Direct TV. Anyone had any experience with the Pointing Labs? What breed is the best suited to Grouse?

I think that Irish setters are great bird dogs. They take alot of hard work to train and I mean alot of hard work. I had one when I was younger and it was the best bird dog I could have asked for. Now that I am married my wife has her little toy poodle... I think that if I were to take that with me I would be laughed out of the state.

My friend had a Golden that he would take with him. that also was a great dog to follow.

I think that everyone has there own favorite but mostly you need to get a dog that you like and click with.
