Looks like the 2008 Bass tournaments are going to be alot differant this year. I Herd that NBAA is dropping the entry from $125.00 to $100.00 for 2008 I guess that mean you will win even less money than the past years.

Anglers United is only holding tournaments On the Grand River and Muskegon Lake, No more tournaments in the north, east or southern part of michigan. Who wanted to travel all over the state fo 15 boat tournaments anyway. I just hope they are smart enogh to put the classic somewhere in this area nothing would make guys madder than fishing on the other side of the state for a classic.

Looks like Cadillac and Mitchell are going to get hamerd again this year with back to back tournaments durring the spawn. I know its fun to get the smallies on the beds but as fisherman or should I say tournament directors when do we put the lake into consideration and not your pocket book lakes like Hardy and caddilac have been takeing a beating for the last couple of years durring the spaw, these are not huge lakes we will see the affect of this in years to come, so when someone says what happened to the big smallies in hardy just tell them to many tournaments durring the spawn!

I have herd that russ at BBT has a good deal cooking with his tournaments this year it seems like BBT is the turtle in the race for the best Tournament series on the west side of the state nothing happens real fast but it dose get done, he dose not make a bunch of promisses that he can't keep you know what you are going to get when you fish his tournaments. I feel that in the end BBT will keep growing and the rest will slowly go down the tubes. And I feel that is a good thing for every one that wants to fish a bass tournament or even the guy that just wants to go out for the day and fish Less tournaments means less fishing prsure and better fishing for everyone.

I am looking forward to the 08 season it can't get here to fast.

i agree with hitting the lakes during the spawn.... i think muskegon has really gone downhill in the last few years - something in part with all the Ts constantly pounding the lake along with the dwindling water levels.

Boy talk about jumping the gun, my bow isn't put away yet.

Waterfoul, petitioned a tourny forum, awhile back. Looks like it may be a good idea to consider again.

I recall back in the days  when the bass were in the way when fishing Mitchell and Cadillac. This last summer spent four days up there on the water, targeting bass, most less than 10".

Didn't relize so many tourn'ys where being held during the spawn period. This makes sense now.

Jason, what time frame do you consider "during the spawn?" I know lakes differ from one to another... but I fished my first tourney this year on opening day and saw NO spawning bass in that particular lake. I do plan on putting something together for this coming season... and I hope I've got my schedule as such to not interfere with spawning fish.

Hopefully we'll have a MS.com tourney trail this year... and I hope we can get more boats than we had at what I'll call the "inaugeral" events this past summer.

Oh, and if NBAA would stop taking so much of the entry fees OUT of the entry fees there would be: 1) more boats (I won't fish them because of the low payout and I know others who feel the same) and 2) bigger payouts! The directors should have to pay the fees just like anyone else on the lake that day.

The Midwest Tournaments Are Good And They Pay Out Very Well. What Area Are You Fishing?

I Can't Belive That Anyone That Dose The Math Would Fish Nbaa. They Take So Much Of The Money And Don't Show You Were It Is Going.

Branch and St.Joe county area.Yes your right my first year bass fishing and I figured it out real fast and the guys running it really raked in the money but they won;t get our money any more. The 125.00 for weekend fishing was a joke and most tourneys I looked at online at less then 5 boats.Midwest has a few good divisions in our area but I can't find a web page for them do you know one? Thanks steve
