I am considering trying a red or green dot scope. Does one color have an advantage over the other? Is one better in low light conditions?

Good question; I'm not sure, scientifically, which color can be seen better by the eye in low light conditions. But, I have personally always found green to be more easily seen.

While I can't speak first hand on that style scope I can say that I do not use a red pin with any fiber optic sight because it is far more difficult to see against a deer's body than the yellow or green pin in low light. Maybe it's just my eyes, but I had to pass on a shot in early morning light a few years ago due to the red sight pin. Maybe if the pins were lighted or in your case used in a scope it wouldn't matter.

I have red in mine but I think I would go with the green if I were getting a new one.Bud

Green is more visible to the human eye than red in low light conditions.

Green works best for me.

with my eye's red works great for indoor shooting spots I like red, but out in the field green shows up better then the red. So I change my fiber optics depening on where i am shooting. I would say you would should try both and see what works for you.
