I would like to take a fly-in fishing trip in Canada this summer. I was wondering if anyone had any recomendations on some good outfitters that I could look into.

Where are you planning on going and what type of trip - canoe/camp or outpost style? I have flown into Wabakimi and Quetico Provincial Parks, but not any other areas.

If you are up to a little challenge, then definatly go to the quetico! You will never regret it. The fishing is tremendous and the solitude and scenary is second to none. Very fun trips up there. You will catch some trophys.

We would like to go to an outpost style and probably will go to Ontario, but I am open to suggestions. I want to go somewhere with reliable boats and excellent pike and walley fishing.

It looks great. Have you been there?

look up PK Resorts out of Hornepayne. Going on a father/son trip this june. This will be our first trip. The owners have been great to deal with. I heard from several past guests and all have rave reviews.
It offers both housekeeping and american plans. Prices are good as well. Everyone I've talked to said good fishing for pike, walleye, and jumbo perch. They also mentioned the equipment and food is top notch as well.
Check their web site out...lots of info.

Give Gogama Lodge a try. They will fly you out daily to different lakes or you can do the outpost thing. I always did the daily fly-ins. The cooking at the main lodge is second to none!
Good Luck

Dave,

Welcome aboard. A few of us are currently researching a trip somewhere in Canada for trophy brook trout. As it develops, I will keep you informed.

We want to fly in and float out. Trip to last about a week.

I checked out their web site and called them. The place looks awesome. Thanks for the tip, I think we are going to book sometime in July. I spoke to Paul there and he said that they will be at the Sportfishing and RV show in Grand Rapids in March. I'm looking forward to speaking to him.

Thanks Ray, another member recommended PK Resorts and I think we are going to book with them. Walley and Pike are more my style. Thanks also for recommending this website, everyone has been very helpful and provided me with several places to check out. If you get up north, keep me posted on the ice conditions.

We are making our trip in late june. If you end up booking a date later than that I should be able to provide you with some info concerning the fishing and such.

That would be great! I called them and they dont have any openings until July. We will probably be going in mid-July. Any info you send would be appreciated. Save us a few giant pike...

Excellent! I hated to book a resort with no referrals. It sure looks nice on their web-site. I can't wait.

I have to agree with the other posts. I went last year with my Dad in late August and will be returning in May. Great fishing with great owners. Largest Pike was 42" and largest Walleye was 28". Released them both so we can get them again this spring only bigger......

Let me know if you need any details. Good luck!

I fished Wabatongushi Lake for a long time with my father and a couple of close family friends.

Our trips were always scheduled a week or two after ice out. Large Pike and Walleye were the norm. I highly recommend them.
