I've been to Minnisota, but never fished it . Try here www.lakestatefishing.com they have lake of the woods and mille lac info. Let the board know how you do up there!
Good Luck!
When I was a kid, we used to go to Moose Lake Lodge in Ely, on Moose Lake. I don't think that lodge is operating anymore, but there is another lodge on the lake. The lake is conected to a crapload of other lakes and if you wanted you can make a day out of traveling North through that chain and portage(they have a jeep with a trailer there) into Basswood, a HUGE, DEEP lake with a lot of bays, etc.

My Family went to Leech lake for years. Its been a while since we have been there, but it was a great place to fish. It is a huge lake with just about any species you want to catch.
