Hey all I just transferred from Lake Superior State University up in the good ol SOO and lost some of my best ICE fishing areas..

Now I attend MSU and am trying to locate maybe a fe good lakes within an hour, hour and half or so that have some walleye or decent pike in them. Is there any rivers around here that have good numbers of fish? I dont know anything about Detroit river or if any parts around their or erie freeze and get some nice eyes? If any of you have a good lakes to go to or try thanks so much for any ideas! Im still young and trying to learn the ropes of ice fishing and everything. Thanks again

Just send me a p.m if you want.

if you are looking for eyes, the saginaw river in bay city or zilwaukee would be your best bet. its probably a little shorter distance to there from east lansing, plus you dont have to walk a long distance to find them. pike, you might want to try the northern part of lake st. claire. anchor bay with tip-ups is a good bet for that, plus good numbers of perch and gills.
