Hi All!
I have a Bear Truth bow I got last year and I love it...just love it, but I have a problem with it and wonder if anyone else has seen. The problem is the serving on the lower limb by the cam is cut and so is some of my string. I have had it for only a season and i have been very careful with it. I'm wondering if this is a new bow problem or just something that I got.
Thanks so much for any info keep on hunting and Fishing.

I bought the Bear Instinct this summer, and the serving near the cam (lower limb) appears pinched, with the serving starting to spread apart. No serving or string material is cut though. Your cam may have a burr on it that cut the serving. Other archery websites talk about this, not just for Bear bows, but other single cams as well.

Like you, I love shooting my Bear and the Instinct is sweet to hunt with, being so short and light, parallel limbs, the price, etc. It's a good combination.

I have seen this before in many fred bear bows. Its very common the best thing you can do is watch the wear and tear and make sure you keep your string wax. And obviously make sure there aren't any major problems with the bow. Its usually because the string or cable is coming into the cam at and angle and thus causing abrasions to the string or cable. This is called cam lean. The only bad part is that companies usually don't warranty the strings unless there was a malfunction to another part of the bow. Ex. your cam gets bent and sometimes they still won't replace your strings.

While shopping for a bow for my wife we considered the Instinct and went to Jay's to shoot a few bows. We noticed this on every Instinct they had(LH) sweet shooting bow otherwise.

Ive had burrs on two cams from two different bow companys. Neither were bear bows. Take it to your shop and they should be able to get you a new cam.
