Shanty use

I'm going out on the icee sunday to a small lake but i am taking my girlfriend along. She doesn't like the cold and i know she would much rather me bring the shanty along. My question is how much ice does there need to be until you pull your shanties out?

Shanties distribute weight more evenly than a bucket. If it can hold you then it should be able to hold two people inside. But, always use caution.
