Just wondering; where do you purchase your brewing/wine making supplies?

There are no HBS up here, whenever I go downstate I shop at a store in Taylor (Adventures in Home Brewing) or I'll order from Austin Home Brew Supply, they have great service and the lowest shipping costs.

My son has purchased what I need for me.
He started brewing beer last year, and lives in Kalamazoo.
He goes to Bells.

Is it Bell’s Brewery that sell supplies to home brewers? Or is there a HBS named Bell’s?

I'm pretty sure he said it's the brewery that has the store.
The guy working there is very knowedgeable and helpful.

I don't see any online brewing supplies yet but there site is new.

I buy my kits from www.grapestompers.com

I get most my supplies from www.brewgadgets.com

GrapeStompers give me great pricing and service on my kits. I do the rest through Brew Gadgets as they are somewhat local, about 20 miles away and they deliver anything over I think $25. he jumps i nthe truck when he gets home and drives over to the house with the goods.

A local liquor store (Lambrechts) in St Joe caries most stuff I need. If they don't have it, they can order it. They cary Wine and beer supplies.

When I was brewing beer alot I had some success culturing yeast from my favorite craft brews. Most Bell's are a good candidate for this.

Haven’t tried culturing yet, although I’ve heard that works well with Bell’s Oberon.

I saved two bottles of Arcadia’s Whitsum, looks like there is a small amount of yeast at the bottom of the bottle, I’ll give culturing a try after Christmas. Would be sweet to reproduce Whitsum at home.

My mom grew up in Kzoo, Portage, and E. Cork St. Next summer I’m taking her back for a trip down memory lane; I also plan to put a tour of Bell’s Brewery on the itinerary.

I've been buying most of my ingredients from Oppermann's Cork-N-Ale in Saginaw. Living close to the thumb there really isn't anything close to home.

Oppermann's Cork-N-Ale for the most part but Begicks in Bay City for adjuncts and yeast saves on mileage (60+ miles from Hale)-I try to save my pennies and make it 2-3 times a year
