I am looking to catch a coaster this year or next. I know I may be late for this year, but I would like to try for them next year. I was wondering if any of the U.P. rivers get a run of these fish. I know that the north side of lake superior gets runs of these fish on the Nipigon river, but I would like to stay in the country if possible. I may have to go for a guided trip to Canada though, if there is nothing availible here. I heard they plant them in Wisconsin or Minnesota too from the Nipigon strain. You can email me at tjsimons@email.msn.com I would really appreciate it!! I am just looking for some rivers to try and maybe a timeframe.

I know the Salmon/Trout has them up by Big Bay, North of Marquette, The only problem is most of that river is in the Huron Mountain Club property, you might be able to fish the mouth of it, but not sure. and I'm sure I've head of them being caught over by Escanaba, just going to have to do some checking on the net. If I hear anything I'll let you know.

The only place I know of that any numbers of them is on Isle Royale. I don't have reg book in front of me, but it seems to me something is said in there about this fishery.
