Well, I added another species to the list of fish I've caught. Went out with Mike tonight (Waterfoul) and fished in Muskegon from about 7:30- Midnight. No more than five minutes into fishing, I managed to 'hook' my first whitefish, right in the side lolol . Things got better as the night progressed, and while Mike landed at least 3 times the fish I did, I think that of the 5 or so I landed , 3 were legal...

All of our fish were caught jigging gold hopkins, but as I learned tonight, the majority of the fish you'll catch will be foul hooked...Just too many fish to avoid it.

Here's a pic of the largest, and man was he a squirmy fish (as you can see in the pic):

Thanks again for the good time Mikey.

Way to go msunolimit!! Man please take no offense to this but, you look so much like Adam Sandler in that pick that I'm dying over here. All I can see is you saying..."SHOOBIDDY DOO!!" Hey with you looking like Sandler and me like Farley maybe we could take it on the road?

Fished for an hr before heading to the bar for the packers vs cowboys game last night. We took a few fish home between 2 people in that time. A steady wind made it a bit chilly.

Smoking whitefish....Can't say Ive tried it....Then again I'm not a 'paper' guy

I've actually heard the Adam Sandler comparison, although the last time was while I was dragging an empty keg at MSU (a la Billy Madison)...I'm up for a road show anytime 'Mr. Farley' ;)

If you're out there guys, come over and say hi, now that you know my goofy mug. I'm going to try and get out at least a few times while they're still in.

Take Care,
Dave

note: This was one of my more enjoyable experiences, as just about everybody (save the guys keeping every fish and bolting) was very friendly...Good times ;)

Hey! Thats MY spot,

;)

Seriously, you'll snag a lot less if you do not rip your jiggin stroke. Feel bottom, slowly twitch the spoon. Not like your on the East side at the 6th street dam yoinkin steelhead  .

Well I must've been doing something right then :) since my legal landed ratio was probably 60-70%...

That's how I was fishing for the most part...slowly. I definitely missed far more than I landed, but the ones I DID manage were more legal than not...

I probably SHOULD have been ripping given that I wasn't keeping anything, yet values/ethics (Adam Sandler lookalike aside) still play a major role in my fishing...

Hey all, just wanted to get this bumped up to the top and let you all know that I'll be out fishing Tuesday night in the same location (weather provided)...

For all you guys who know the location, if you're out there please come over and say hi. If Mike (Waterfoul) is still planning on going out, it will be me (Adam Sandler ), my beautiful wife (Lunkerchic101), and Mikey (Waterfoul).

Send me a PM with your phone number if you want to meet us out there and I'll give you a call, or call my number (in my signature). As long as you're legal, the more the merrier out there...The 'wall' in Muskegon is a MUCH friendlier crowd than the 'wall' in Grand Rapids (6th street)

Sounds like another addict started !
I've sure been wanting to make it out there , but been mighty busy with too many things and I gotta fish too!!

I might be "nearby" if I can swing it - with the wind dying down the WF action won't be as good - but I won't be going to WF if I can help it.

;)

I've never seen this done in Muskegon. I believe Steinfishski might though...
