I know most of us where boots with cleats when we go ice fishing but too I think the cleats are kinda pain in the but to use.Another thing is that they always seam to slip around no matter how much I tighten them and they realy dont feel all that comfortable to walk on either.Im just wonder do they make a boot with bottom similar to golfing cleat bottom or something similar? The wife and I are discussing going ice fishing together this winter and this is something thats not usualy a normal thing because she fears walking on the ice.I told her well its not something that I realy enjoy either but I just take my time, walk slower, and becareful.Falling on the ice and slipping isnt exactly a pleasant experience especialy when you twist an ankle or fall backwards and hit your head:yikes:Maybe a helmet is something we should use also:idea:.Anyways looking for suggestions if anyone has any thankx Aaron

I know what you are saying about those cheapo ice cleats that you need to tighten up with straps. I tried those and had the same problems. I upgraded last year to this cleat.

It wraps around the boot with no sinching or straps necessary. They offer them in different sizes as well. I bought mine at the bait shop nearby. Not sure if these are the exact ones, but pretty close. They slip on easy and stay on.

doing a quick search, I found cabelas has a different kind for a bit cheaper.

I do not remember paying over 20 bucks for mine (at the bait shop outside selfridge).

found it on a diff. site....
I made my cleats by taking my favorite boots that had gotten the tread worn down and screwing hex-head roofing screws into the sole. its a cheap way to keep from slipping and you can replace them if they get worn down and they are removeable.

I just tried these cleats and they were a big disappointment.
If you want to slide on studs that is about all they do. Could have been designed better using different stud lengths and angles. Save your money for something else."

Review 2 for Korkers Korkeez Ice Cleats
Overall Rating: 1 out of 5

"The cleats go on really well and stay put well, but as soon as you try to do anything other than gently walk across the ice, (such as work or hunt that requires REAL lateral traction) the little cleats pop out due to the rubber's weakness. I scratched my foot on the ice trying to bust a piece on my frozen steps, and three of them popped right out! Other than that, they are great."

This product looks like it didnt get good reviews but I`ll think I will get the 1st product mentioned, seems like they will do the job nicely and I like the way they fit over the shoes.

good catch, stinger, on the cabelas cleats. I did not read the comments. But, just by looking at them, I wondered if those spikes wouldn't pop out after a bit of usage. Go with the stabilcers. They work quite well, but like anything they have limits as well. After searching a bit more I noticed a HEAVY DUTY pair for around 40 bucks! :yikes: but man those look like they can take some wear and tear. You can also replace the spikes.

And FWIW: I would never run screws through the bottom of my boots. I don't care how old the things are! But, I am kind of a wuss when it comes to cold feet. I wear my micky mouse boots with these cleats and am always warm. A little damp from the sweat, but I can deal with that. :corkysm55
