View Full Version : Finally a Nice Buck!!

Well after hunting really hard this year, I happened to be at the right place at the right time. We have seen this deer across the street many times but never on our land. This is a buck bed area that is really overlooked by most people. We havent seen any deer as of late, and we were just going to see if any deer were around this small pocket of elm trees. Well, I saw a fresh track in the little snow we have going into the elms, and I looked ahead and saw TINES moving in the brush about 15 yards away. I couldnt believe this buck allowed me to get that close, but I shot him right out of his bed. He is a 9 point, that has a broken G4, with a sticker off the base making him 10 scoreable points!!

Yeah Kelly, I have been hunting more than usual, and then with the kids I just dont have a LOT of time as of lately, but now I can take a break for a while!! Thanks,

Walleye, that looks like 80% of all SW lower, but all I can say is that was shot in Berrien County!!

NO, I meant that I hunted harder this year than I ever hunted and I also hunted SMARTER then I ever hunted. It just wasnt happening, until gun season. I usually shoot both my bucks with a bow, and this year was the exact opposite. I hunt harder than most I can tell you that!!!

Have you been seeing any down in that tall grass area that you shot your buck last year?? That is where we have been seeing the few that we have been seeing and they are sitting REAL TIGHT, like rabbits!!

That's exactly where I'm set up. 120 yds from the swamp and on a hill between them and the corn. Only a matter of time...I hope. ;)

Hey Shank good friends of mine have a grassy swamp and they are seeing ALL their deer in that swamp and NOT coming out. Just get out there, here when muzzle starts and you will get one then!! Good Luck!!
