The fish are still there they wern't in much of a bittin mood but I got 3 to go on a swim bait in 10' of water, one was pushin 4lbs the other 2 were in the 3 lb range to cold to put a scale on them. I will keep fishin till the water is hard then it's time to hybernate.

Ok you caught 3 fish and this is in the warm water forums so Im going to guess and say they were either steelies and you posted this in the wrong forum or you caught any 3 of any number of warm water species:confused:

He caught them on a swimbait and he is, from reading his other post, a pretty exclusive bass fisherman. I would guess he was talking about either smallies or largemouth.

...I will keep fishin till the water is hard ...
I'm all for that.
But don't stop then. If you can find 'em just before ice-up, then you've found the aggregations that will persist until mid-ice at least(prob 20fow+).
Myself, I ice Pike, and haven't caught a bass through the ice in 10 yrs. I fish hard water @ 6-8fow almost exclusively, too shallow for ice bass. Got AquaVu last fall, fished alot deeper for pans and saw LOTS of bass in 20fow. LOTS...but wouldn't touch or even investigate pan jigs or live minnows on tip-up. But I didn't try finesse bass plastic whack OR pounding jigs/small spoons on btm; those on to-do for this winter. Those bass were definitely cruising, though. Swimming fast & close together(really close, like 3').
