If you want quiet and quality look no further than Parker. Parker is not caught up in the fastest thing since sliced bread. they build them quiet, cause quiet kills. Not knocking other quality manufactures I just know the parker philosophy first hand both in my bow and the manufacturer. I shoot alot and when I shoot around someone new they always comment on how quiet it is.
i agree on going to the local shop and swinging a bunch with different bows. When you choose do yourself a favor and get the simms s -coil stabilizer. for about $20.00 it is the best thing going. Also String leeches.

Most are pretty quiet now.
If quiet is the concern shoot a 450+ grain arrow. You'd be amazed how quiet a 525grain arrow is out of any properly tuned bow post 2003.

I will agree with Kelly and say that a heavier arrow will quiet most bows down as will adding noise dampeners. I haven't shot any of the new models yet but I can definitely speak on the 07's. In my HONEST opinion, the Bowtech Guardian was the quietest bow out of the box I have shot. It was amazingly quiet. ;)

My son got the PSE X Force this year. It's the fastest Bow on the market, almost the quietest. It is very quiet, unbelievable fast and accurate. Son is getting 315 fps with hunting weight arrows and a 100 gran field point. 1 sight pen up to 40 yds. Cost to much tho.

We went over to Flint bowman for a 3 d shoot. They have a field course. After we got done with the 3d course I talk my son into shooting at the 40 and 70 yd field target, now understand, he just got this bow and put his sights on his PSE from his other bow (Mathews shooting the same arrows at 285 FPS 70# draw weight and with the PSE X force he is getting 315 at 65# draw weight using the same arrows) and only had it sighted in for 1 pin. He used the 4 pin, for the 70 yd. target and put 3 arrows in the bulls eye , 2 almost touching in the X ring. He don't shoot, practice over 40 yds., so I was impress. Don't know if he can do that again but I think he can. Sure is a quite bow. It does pull hard, so make sure if you are interested in getting one, shoot it first. Might have to go down in the weight you draw but you will still have a very fast and quite bow.

I have a 2005 Mathews Switchback (bought used) and a 2007 PSE X-Force. They are are both extremely quiet. They are both a little pricey though, but I love them both. People can't believe how quiet they are with the arrow weight I am shooting (380 grain including tip). You can see my setups in my signature block.

not to change the subject but any bow you buy can be quieted down using any number of tools to do so limbsaver equipment and many other things work well but the what worked for me better was using a heavier arrow than most other people ot is amazing what arrow weight can do for quieting a bow down personally I shoot trad bow now but if I where going back into compounds I would shoot a hoyt or something like it

Used to shoot 76# 4 pulley PSE with 30% let off. Now I have 80% let off bow and shoot 50#s or so. When it gets cold and I have been setting in a blind for a few hours, I found it hard to pull 60# so drop down to 52# this year. Have not shot anything yet but sure had some changes at doe's and 4 small bucks (thinking I should have took one of them now). Still looking for one of those big bucks that I seen on my Cuddeback camera. Good luck picking out you new bow and think on a 50 to 60# one. P.S. If you buy a PSE X Force you want need to add anything to make it quite.
