Tom26133,
I lived on Wamplers for years. This lake is absolutely bombed with bass tournies, ski whizzers:mad:, and speed boats on the weekend, but, even then you can fish Round Lake(Hoxsie), and Iron Lake. These lakes have great panfish, especially Red Ears. Lots of small pike, and veeeerry occassionally, a good one. Bass fishing is very good, but the fish know the lures better than we do. They have all been around the block at least once. Makes for a challenge. A wally makes an appearance once in a while, but not often. Some incidental catches weekly. Ice fishing can be fantastic:). Ice fishing tourny held there yearly. A FUN weekend!! A bait shop lives on the canal between the lakes, and he rents boats. A handicapper accessible pier is on the lake in the campground(Round Lake). The campground is usually busy, but nice nonetheless. Ample shore fishing opportunities exist, some being quite productive:D. One caution. STAY AWAY ON RACE WEEKENDS:yikes:. The area is a MAD house. Good Luck. Capnhook PS. Ludington is great, and I fish there often. I f you have more questions PM me.
