Actually, it might not be because there are alot of fallen down trees across the water. Also the stream gets to be about 3ft wide in some places. And if you make it past all of these obsticles there are a few sandbars that you'll get caught on, but if you want to fish it these are some of the best places to fish. Most winter fish stack up here and dont try much to get above them. But if want to get into some fish try fishing right where the river meets the kalamazoo river. Its really skinny part of the river and the fish get thick here sometimes. I dont know how they are doing this winter i havnt been there since this summer when i hooked into a skamania that must have found his way up the kalamazoo, into the river, and all the way to the hamilton dam. I was so surprised, it was the only skamania i had hooked in all my life.

HAve fished the "upper" rabbit often.....above the falls in hamilton. Good LMB there, and good smallies, if you can find them. Have taken a canoe back there quite a ways...maybe 4-5 miles. THe widest spots I have found have been the last two miles downstream to the falls. SOme good deep holes, sloughs, and backwaters......it is a productive river.
