I'm re-doing the steps and landing in my basement,, I got the luaun down and have the adhesive,, but there's no directions. Do I just spread it with the vinyl adhesive trowel? Do I have to mix this glue with anything?? Thanks in advance.

You spread it with a trowel that has grooves about an 1/8th of an inch apart. They sell plastic throw aways at home depot.

Make sure you dont put it on to thick if the vinyl is of low quality it will take forever for it to dry and will leave footprints in it.. And before you try to trowel it on the luan, take the new trowel out and scrape the trowel on the concrete to grind down some of the teeth, and you should be set...
Anymore questions just pm me i do it for a living....

Definitely not "high" quality vinyl.,,, the other question I had is,, on cutting this stuff. Can I just cut it with scissors or do I need some type of vinyl utility knife??

Without seeing it i guess you could cut with scissors but a sharp utility knife would make it better...

Oh,, one more thing,,, do I have to lay this out for a while to get it flat? And what do I use to get it flat on the surface?? If you know what I mean? Like to smooth it out??
yes..the more you can let the vinyl "relax" prior to installation the easier it will be to handle. Not mandatory...but helpful. Keep it warm.
Rent a vinyl floor roller (really cheap) to help the adhesive bond. Well worth a trip to the rental place or Home Depot

Has it been rolled up for a longtime if so YES lay it out and it will relax
I think you mentioned on another post your putting it on steps ?
If the same vinyl is on a landing or coming out of a kitchen if so make sure the pattern is lined up with the existing one.(if there is a pattern)..
And to get the air bubbles out i just use my hands, if your doing a large area you will need a roller...

Alright,,,, how come none of you guys told me to do the risers on the steps first? OK,, on to my next question,,,, can I lay new vinyl over old vinyl??? And if I can,,, what would I clean the old vinyl with to prep it for the adhesive? On a sidenote,,,, I got pretty good with that trowel,,,,, now if only I could learn how to measure and cut a straight line,,, I'd be in great shape.
I did that one time!!!I bought the wrong size riser for the treads!!I didnt know there were different sizes.I had them all nailed down and there was still some of the wood showing.I cut small pieces of the linoleum to fit into it,WRONG!!Boy did that looked all fubar !!!Went back and got the right size!!
