...And its a ten point!
I have been hunting since I was 14, I am 24 now and finally I have used a tag. This couldnt of happened any better as my dad and sister were only 50 to 100 yards up the trail from me.
The buck crossed the trail about fifty yards ahead of me, all I seen was the antlers and the body slip into the brush. I quick got on one knee and scoped him with no shot possible because of a fallen tree. I quick moved to a clear lane about ten feet to my left and had all of a two foot clearing he would cross. When I seen hs antlers I rested the crosshairs where his vitals would be and as his shoulder just passed the center I squeezed the trigger. He went only 30 yards tops and layed against a pine tree. It all happened in 15 seconds at the most.
I was cool and collect untill the shot then I started shaking like a leaf in the wind. I called for my sister 40 yards away she came just about running, then I got dad and we were going to start the trailing. I seen the deer down before we found blood. It wasnt the first buck I have seen but the first I could take a shot on, and It'll be my first on the wall.
I took him Nov. 16 at noon on state land in Mason county. 10 point, 12 inch inside spread and a 7 inch longest tine. Bill
