I have been asked to organize a tournament in 2008, to help out families of service men and woman fighting over seas.
The Idea I had was a combo tournament that will combine a 1 day bass fishing tournament and a 1 day sporting clays tournament. The contestants will register as either a fisherman or shooter. 1 fisherman and 1 shooter will be paired up for the event, There will be a pay out for the fishing, shooting and combined payout for the best combined score.
The event will be held at Muskegon Lake and Sea way Gun Club some time in the fall of 08.
Any ideas on what we can do to make this a great event would be appreciated.
Thanks Jason

You might want to consider letting a participant enter twice. Once as a fisherman and once as a shooter. If this was an option then maybe then let this person enter the second time for a 15% discount. Naturally, they could not pair off with themselves.

Well, I'll hold up the fishing end of my partnership... he doesnt' fish much. He'll have to hold up the shooting end as I don't shoot!! Could be interesting if I can talk him into it.

Oh heck, I'll just give him a "fairy wand" for the day... anyone can catch fish on a senko!! LOL!!!

This will be a draw tournament.
"Draw" as in the team partners will be randomly drawn, right?

Yes team partners will be drawn, This will allow guys that do not know a good shooter or fisherman to partisapate in the event.

The entry will be $100.00 plus side pots for Big FIsh, Long run (sporting clays), low score, and more.

The payback will be 80% with 20%+ depending on sponsors going to the familys of military men and women.
