The g-men come to town after a loss that would have moved them up from pretender status. The d-line is their greatest strength, our o-line is our greatest weakness.
One series on offense for the Lions will tell me if I want to watch the rest of the game. Right now, I see JTO playing the whole second half.
I'll be rooting for the honolulu blue as always, but I see an egg being laid in 4 days.

Its a good game to be playing at a good time. Its put up or shut up time now. Got the hardest part of the season comming up. The G men and 2 games vs Favre. The 6-3 start was vs pretty weak teams. I havent checked but i'd be suprised if the winning percentage of the teams they beat isnt .400 or below. They beat the raiders, who stink. they beat the Vikes, who stink, they beat the Bears who have stunk. Now they will be
looking to back into the playoffs and having to play some good teams to make it. They may be able to back in with a 9-7 record, but will have to go 3-4 against some of the better teams. So its time to see just what that team is made up of. Have they turned the corner and gonna make a run? Or are they gonna fold and die? I know where my money would be!!!

I think the Giants are as big a fraud as the loins. This game could be "ugly". It wouldn't surprise me if the loins won. They'll most likely split with GB,, beat KC,,, Minn. is terrible and I don't think the Chargers are very good either. Like I said,,, you can "flip coins" on the rest of these games. What I haven't looked at is "when" they play these teams,, Dallas, GB and SD could very well be resting starters for the playoffs,, when the loins get 'em.

The lions have the second toughest schedule in the league going into the second half of the year, this is based on winning percentages of the teams we have left to play. If we can come out of this at .500 I would be a happy man!!

I am not yet ready to dismiss them, as I never thought they would make the super bowl anyway. Just wanted to see some improvements. In my opinion, if we are able get a better offensive line in the upcoming off season, we may be a contender next year for the playoffs.

Not worried about wins and losses this year, keep guys healthy, develop some teamwork, start to believe in ourselves, make some plays, avoid mistakes and wins will come!!

I think we can win 4 more before the end of the year and potentially limp into the playoffs.

However, our luck will have us playing in Greenbay for the last game of the year (cold) and the outcome will determine the playoffs.....then end up back in Greenbay a week later only to lose.

Lions look like a .500 team, for all the reasons Mel mentions. I think they go
2-5 down the stretch and end up 8-8. Still, even THAT is an improvement....

Yes, 8-8 would make for a great year for them compared to the past 7-8 years. It gets them headed in the right direction and all they would need to
improve on that in the next year would be some wise trading/drafting by Matt Millen() Ah yes, back to the years of 8-8...wheres Wayne ."500" Fontes when you need him???

I'll take that 50/50 shot at the Lions winning on any given Sunday.
:help:
I'll raise you this as well:
What if Martz hasn't taken the gloves off this version of the greatest show on turf yet? Maybe the Wiz has been feeling out the competition and waiting to see which situations/plays his squad stacks up the best?
I am confident that Martz knows more about the NFL than any of us could ever hope to know, but I am not so confident that he has the tools to fix the O just yet. Emphasis on YET.
Here's the kool-aid, pass the cornbread.

Yes, he could be holding back to let it all out in the end. But if thats the
case then he should be fired on the spot!!! The game is to competitive and to much is at stake to be holding ANYTHING back. A 6-3 record might be a
7-2 record if he's hiding/saving something. Besides, with the overall weakness in the NFC, you have to do everything you can to win EVERY game. Saving it til the end will bite him in the butt cause as weak as the division is there is no such thing as a sure win. Because this team has been so bad-for so long it only makes sence to do EVERYTHING to win at all costs, right now!!! Then again, its the loins, so for management it might look right:dizzy:

Martz sure does know more than us, there is no doubt about it. The real issue is this, are the players smart enough to learn the complex schemes that he runs? The scoreboard never lies.

That's the problem,,, Martz was used to coaching NFL players,, for an NFL franchise. This is a whole new animal for him.

Martz still needs a QB that can handle the heat. Kitna is not a first string QB.
With the receivers he has got Hell Joey could do better:lol:
