This is a site to the one similar to what we had.

I'm looking for something similar, its too hard controlling the heat from a woodburner!

Diesel, is just the alternate we used for the hard to find oil!

We had a space heater style furnace that burned fuel oil, and it had a label on it that said "burns fuel oil distallates including diesel #1." I always thought that fuel oil was diesel fuel?? It sure smelled like it anyway...

My buddy heats his camp with a used engine oil furnace. He collects used (but clean) oil from people and burns several hundred gallons a year. Don't know if they still make those.

FYI
Fuel oil and Diesel are the same, it comes in two grades #1 & #2. #2 oil is fine in warmer weather but when it gets really cold it can gel-up and not flow through the pipes. That's when you need #1.

Thanks for the info. I was starting to think maybe we were using the wrong fuel type and maybe over time it would deteriorate the unit. Our unit is a large space heater used to heat a garage.
