I think the wagon is nearing capacity, but won't overflow unless they can put on a good show in two weeks against the Giants. If they get to the packers 8-2 then the game on turkey day we'll be more than just background noise for a lot of people...

I want on the wagon soooo bad, I do, I really do. But our blow-out losses still haunt me. I've waited for years for this team to win, it's just really hard to believe they are winning. Earlier in the year I said 5-11, well they've proven me wrong. Thank you Lions, and their faithful fans, and please accept my humble apology. Now keep the season going strong and win some more!

I figured this year to be pretty much a building year with average record. They have finally assembled some good talent but never figured them to have this record. A pleasant surprise from what I was thinking. They have had some of the worst luck the last few years. Good to see even that has changed. Knock on wood.

Emotion? There was no emotion about it--they systematically and methodically whupped the Bronco's a** in all phases of the game.
This was the kind of Lions game that I've been waiting for, for a long time. :woohoo1:

Nice win for the Lions. I'm starting to pack my bag for the wagon trip but I haven't got my boarding pass yet.
Games against NY Giants, 2 with Green Bay, Dallas, KC, and a rematch with Minnesota still looming in the future.
Did anyone catch Adrian Peterson's numbers today? 296 yards rushing (253 in the SECOND HALF). Holy Cow!
Is it too early to start watching the wild card possiblities?
NY Giants 6 -2
Lions 6-2
Washington 5-3
Carolina 4 -4
New Orleans 4 -4

When they become a legitimate franchise in the NFL I will gladly support them with all my fervor. This franchise has been so dead for so long, it is perfectly reasonable to have bailed on them. I don't think it makes those of us that bailed on them "fair-weathered fans" or "bandwagon jumpers" just because we didn't let them lead us around like a bunch of sheep.
I actually had season tickets throughout the 90's, gave them up after the last season in the Silverdome. "Why would you give them up now, we'll get priority seating in the new stadium" my buddy's cried.
I told them I'm sick of giving up my hard-earned money and 8 Sundays every Fall for nothing. Give me a call when they become a legitimate franchise I told them.
So don't expect me to feel guilty for having bailed, just because I am STARTING to get a little excited at the prospect of professional football in Detroit.

its gonna be tough to catch up, or even pace the packers for the rest of the season. they have such a cakewalk schedule it isnt funny. aside from the lions, the only other team the packers play with a winning record is dallas. unless we beat GB both times (likely not gonna happen), they will have the division.
if detroit makes it in, it will be as a wild card. but the giants(6-2) and redskins(5-3) are right there with us. that washington loss may come back to haunt us. plus, the giants are playing amazing right now.
after the cardinals, our schedule is sick. even if we go 4-4 the rest of the way (which is probably optimistic looking at the games ahead) the giants will still win the wild card. literally all the games for the rest of the year are must-wins.
next week: @ the cardinals - should win (must rout this team)
11: giants - probable loss
12: packers - might win
13: @vikings - should win ( although peterson & co. just took apart the chargers)
14: cowboys - probable loss
15: @chargers - definite loss
16: chiefs - should win (but this team is more complete than the vikes)
17: @green bay - no way do we beat this team at lambeau, especially if the division is on the line.
i would love to see the lions make the playoffs, but ray carruth must have conspired with this schedule because it is downright murderous. look it up if you need to, but thats a clever joke.

With the way the Lions are playing right now, there are no definate losses on that schedule. Everytime they hit the field, they have as good a chance to win and maybe more then the other team. I have watched this team lose and lose and lose,,this team is different,,,much different.

I don't disagree with most of what you said except about the Giants. Yes, they are 6-2 but look at the last 4 teams that they played. The Jets (1-8), Atlanta (2-6), San Francisco (2-6) & Miami (0-8) and they almost lost to the fins. Given that they are playing the absolute dregs of the league it's hard to say how well they are playing but I think amazing is overstating it a little bit. The second half of their season is going to be considerably harder. They will have to get through Dallas, Philly, Washington and New England and I doubt they can beat any of them. Buffalo will give them a pretty good game. They should beat the Vikings and the Bears but I think Detroit can beat them at Ford Field. I can see them ending up 8-8 pretty easily.
If the Lions can beat AZ, the Vikings and either the Pack on Thanksgiving or the Giants that will put them 9-7. KC should be a close game but could also be winnable. The only really likely losses that I see are Dallas, San Diego and The Pack at Lambeau in December.
Next week will be an important game. If the Lions can beat AZ on the road it will give them a big boost going into the Giants game at home.

There's 2 wild card spots in each conference. So, if the Lions do go 4 and 4 and end up with a 10-6 record, Washington would have to go 5 -3 to tie the Lions and get the other wild card. The next 2 closest teams are New Orleans and Carolina who sit at 4 - 4. I don't think it's out of the question that either one of them could go 6 - 2 the rest of the way.
It's a long way to go but being 6 -2 sure puts them in a heck of a position.
I honestly can't believe I'm "talking" like this.

yeah amazing was probably overstating it but a 6 win streak is nothing to sneeze at.
they arent the best teams, but the jets are better than 1-8 would indicate (although the same can be said about denver and their record) and that miami game was terrible for passing due to the rain and mud. jacobs still got his yards on the ground. i dont think if that game was played under any other condition the dolphins would have hung that close. i definitley agree that sf/atl/mia arent that great.
and i agree they have a tough schedule, but its not as bad as ours in my opinion. that team still has a bunch of veteran guys who have played on playoff squads and are going to be prepared against those other teams they play. except the pats and maybe dallas.

When did the Giants become world beaters? They're the most beatable 6-2 team in the NFL. Eli Manning is a Manning in name only. Truth be told, his last name could be Harrington based on his QB play. That's a very winnable game at Ford Field because the Lions D can and will force Mannington into bad decisions.
The trap game is Arizona. That's not a game the Lions typically win. If they pull that one out, then they'll be in great shape.
And I don't see the San Diego game as an automatic loss...they are coached by Norv Turner, you know.
Sure, people can jump back on the bandwagon now, but this kind of season thus far is just a freakin' joy for those of us that have been there all along and who were talking about this sort of stuff back in March. ;) Sure, they could lose several more games, but when's the last time we were talking about meaningful games in November?

i wouldnt call them world beaters. maybe lions beaters. the lions are the most beatable 6-2 right now. the cardinals will show the league how to put points on us (like the skins and eagles did) when whatever jobber they have at qb (warner probably) throws bombs to fitzgerald and boldin all day, and james destroys us in the red zone. i dont think the cards will win but im sure itll be a shootout. however, the giants will be watching this and see the formula. while eli isnt archie or payton (or even the other retarded manning brother for that matter) he will still have plaxico to make him look good, plus shockey/toomer arent exactly slouches either. then brandon jacobs will pummel everyone on our line. jacobs is gonna be the new steven jackson and will showcase his frame/skills against the lions and probably every other team he plays now that hes healthy.
as much as i want to see us beat the giants, this isnt 2000, and we dont have chaaalie batch to slay the giants. remember that performance?
you know whats funny, when the lions beat them that year at giants stadium i remember how that was the game that year where we "showed everyone we were for real." (of course by real we meant we might go to the playoffs and win a game unlike in 99). but guess what happened? the bears in week 17. 23-20. i remember the radio call on the bears' game winning field goal. something like "the kick is up.....and the lions arent going to the playoffs." history just might repeat itself when we play GB in week 17 this year.

The loins could realisticly go 12-4,,, They kinda remind me of the Bears of last season(except for the defense). The Giants are not that good,, their lucky to have a winning record. Same goes for the Chargers,, Rivers in not that good,, LT makes him look good. KC,,, is not good at all,, if that game is in Arrowhead,, they might have a shot. Minnesota is terrible and honestly I don't know how the Pack is doing it either,,, that leaves the Cowboys,, I believe. Seriously,, you can go ahead and start flipping coins on the rest of the loins schedule,,, that's basically what it boils down to.

So the Vikings are a "should win" according to most of the posts above. But everyone seems to think the Chargers game is a loss. Didn't the Vikes just blast the Chargers yesterday? Granted we don't have AP, but the Vikings don't really have the passing game that the Lions do. I see both these games as probably wins for the Lions.

wow the rapids, did you really say last week that the lions were the most beatable 6-2 team right now? and did the mighty arizona cardinals just take us out back and whoop us? i guess they did show the rest of the leauge how to put up points on us. just run a balanced attack (like we supposedly had the last few weeks or should i say weaks) to run the score up early, and then let us showcase our sweet o-line and quarterback as we try to come back.
but you predicted a lions win. how can anyone who sees how big of frauds the lions are still call for a win? i guess you really are a lions fan.
yeah thanks, and hey maybe instead of watching the giants beat us next week, i should watch the game they played back in 2000. you know, when the quarterback was actually proud to wear a lions hat. although if the o-line keeps acting like it wants their qb dead, kitna will be playing for team jesus in a few weeks.
you know what, i would like to say that the lions beat themselves in this one, but that would mean that we came out of this game with a win and a loss on our record. instead, we just walked away with a loss, and the cardinals took the win.
oh well at 8-8 is still a 5 game improvement over last year. assuming we win another 2 games.
