Anyone following this saga with Andy Reid's 2 boys? I hate to sit here and try to judge a guy from afar, but we all know most NFL coaches spend 12-18 hours (or more) on the job 7 days a week, is this guy neglecting his family? Its not like he has a 9-5 job. Sounds like there was a serious void of parenting with his 2 boys.
With all the cracking down on NFL players for ethics, behavior, character, etc., is there a double standard with Andy Reid getting essentially a free pass for all this?

They're not boys, they're young men who made some foolish decisions on their own. As for Reid it's tough to say how much he knew, or if he enabled their drug lifestyle, but the truth will find him out if he's guilty. I suspect that he and his wife are in extreme anguish over the whole thing.
I have a few nephews who got involved with heroin and can tell you from personal experience that no amount of talking, pleading, threatening, or a**-kicking would or could change their minds. Ultimately it's up to them to make the necessary changes, or die.

The one son said he was 18 when he started with drugs. I don't know too many 18 year olds who aren't still accountable to Mom and Dad at the age of 18.

I read and hear everywhere that 10 to 14 year olds are using drugs and Booze. Not that this makes what's happened in Reid's family OK but it does happen. Heck, some Pastors kids are the biggest hell raisers.
Speculation is just that, speculation. It sounds like the damge is done now anyways, just hopefully these boys can see the error of their ways before it's too late. It's up to them now.

As far as I'm aware, the NFL is cracking down on people who break league rules and laws. While Reid may be a bad parent, it doesn't look like he broke any laws.
Utlimately, personal responsibility (especially for those aged 18 +) has to be taken into account.
