3 days ago I had a nice 8pt in my plot eating with all the Doe and he didnt pay any attention to them, however the Doe didnt feel very confortable with it

This morning I had 6 Doe in the plot and no sign of Mr 8 until about 20 minutes ago (11am) and this time he didnt show up to eat  He's still out there chasing them around and all I can see are flags flying everywhere

Last night I watched a small 8pt dogging does all over our 40 acre bean field. They wanted nothing to do with him, but he didn't seem to mind that they were playing hard to get. I've noticed other small bucks playing the game, but the big boys seem to be waiting until the does are more receptive.

Really funny around here, last week every buck in the county was running any doe they could find. This week its back off overall.

Came back from Fremont an hour before dark last night and traveled a somewhat out of the way road, in 15 miles I seen 39 deer in 4 different groups out in hay fields eating. Each group had at least one buck in the group but I could see no chasing. I watched each group for 10 minutes and nada they just were at peace eating. Bucks would pick their heads up and look at the road then go back to eating..................

I'm thinking next week will be the big push with all the cloudy, rainy and snowy weather predicted.............they'll be running then for sure.....

I concur for the area we both live and hunt--It's like August here again. Last weekend through Tuesday was nuts w/ activity, but they've definitely settled down in Oceana Cty for hte last 3 days. Weekend might be good, but I'm leaning towards next week as well.

I'm thinking by about the middle of next week a few of the girls will be putting their best lipstick on and hiking up the skirts a little for the boys....:evil: by the end of next week they'll be ready to do the nasty.....

the chase has come and gone in my area. Hiking up the skirts? heck I think the skirts are off!! They are doing the wild thing while we sleep.

They were chasing good in my neck of the woods, then I went 3 consecutive hunts without seeing a buck (morning, afternoon, next morning):confused:

Two nights ago I saw three different bucks bedded very close to lone does, and was worried that they were locked on to hot does and the chase was over. But yesterday morning I saw 3 bucks (one VERY good one at 70 yards) all still cruising and checking out doe groups so I must have just had a fluke day-and-a-half. I think some of the does are in now.
