With the early success, media talking playoffs, and a team coming in that the offense should be able to go wild on; anyone else worried about a letdown at Ford Field? I know I am concerned about the defense on Sunday. This is a HUGE game, and a test to see if Marinelli can get this team to stay focused.
ALSO... can anyone tell me what channel CBS is on Comcast in the Chesterfield/New Baltimore area?

I have a feeling the Lions are gonna get a good ol' fashioned AFC beatdown this Sunday. Coming off a tough OT loss to GB. Denver not wanting to lose to 2 NFC Central teams in a row.
A bounce-back. And what better team to bounce back against than the Lions. I hope I am wrong, but I have 36 beers (30-pack and 6-pack) riding on the buckin Broncos this weekend.
Anyone have the spread?

ESPN has it at Lions by 3 with the over/under at 45.5

Yep, no faith in the Bronco's for this one, of the games they have won, all have been with filed goals, even the Local fans here know the Donkeys stink this year. :) Les

Sorry Joe, but I'm not eating the corn bread. I still don't think the Lions have proven anything yet and I believe they will be .500 by Thanksgiving night.
Yes they've won 5 games but look at the 2 losses. Both colossal blowouts on the road against less than average teams.
They've beat Chicago twice: once with a terrible Rex Grossman at QB and the next time with a washed up Brian Griese (who threw 3 INTs in the end zone).
They beat a terrible Oakland Raider team.
They beat Minnesota at home but the Vikings hadn't learned how to use Adrian Peterson yet.
And they beat Tampa because Jeff Garcia, as we all know too well, honks the roo!
Sorry, but I don't think I'll jump on the band wagon until after Thanksgiving. Beat Denver, NY Giants, and the Pack THEN I'll take a sip of the kool-aid.

Heck, if they win those three games you might as well buy your playoff tickets; WE'RE IN! Even though I have this game down as a loss in my original predictions; I love to be wrong. The Lions offense SHOULD be able to run and play good ball control. The defense SHOULD be able to stop the run and force Cutler into a number of mistakes. The Lions really have a great chance of winning this one. Unless of course, recent history has gone to their heads and we see some sort of letdown.
This is a big preparation test for Marinelli. Can he have them ready to play their butts off.... again?
CBS is Channel 9 in Chesterfiels/New Baltimore if anyone has has Comcast.

The run game is gonna be key. If KJ can have another good game we can pull it off:woohoo1:

This is a game that the Lions should win. Denver is terrible against the run and KJ has been improving the running game each week. Bly is going to be doing everything he can to get a pick so if Kitna makes a good throw he can be burned for a long pass like he was against the Pack. Penalties and injuries have also plagued Denver this year and it's also a short week for them coming off a Monday night game. The Leo's are undefeated at home this year. Everything points towards a Lion win but I'll admit that they have yet to achieve consistent efforts on a week to week basis, so anything can happen. I'm predicting the Lions by 7 but I think it will be a relatively low scoring game.
As far as the rest of the season goes, if they beat Denver their confidence level goes way up. If the lions perform up to their ability I can see them beating Denver, Arizona, The Pack on Thanksgiving at FF, Kansas City and Minnesota. The Giants will probably beat them but Manning can be inconsistent and it is a home game so it's a 50/50 toss up. They will most likely lose to Dallas & San Diego and the Pack at Lambeau in Dec.
I originally predicted that they would go 6 & 10 and at this point it looks like they will do considerably better than that. Still too early to talk Pl*****'s. (Insert Jim Mora soundbite) :D

Well, lets see, the Huge show says the Lions will beat Denver, most of the Sportcasters out here in Colorado think that Denver will lose to the lions by at least 3-7 points. Pretty bad when the locals know the Donkeys suck. I'll be watching this game in HD at a buddies house, they are a Donkey's fans, I'll be wearing Lions gear. :corkysm55:corkysm55:corkysm55

That would be assuming the Lions offensive brain trust actually decides to throw the ball to Johnson. # 2 pick in the draft and he's lucky to see a couple passes a game?

the Lions offensive brain trust
Now there's an oxymoron.
And speaking of moron, why don't they throw some jump balls his way a few times per game? I too would like to see that. Every time he touches the ball something good happens, kind of like Barry Sanders used to. He's a stud.

Well, I think it was the 6X4 Lions flag I was waving everytime the Lions scored.............And of course, at the beginning of the game we decided everyone but me had to drink when the Lions scored, I only had to chug one beer, because thats all the Donkeys could muster. :D :D The jumping up and dancinf didn't help when Culter got pulled from the game either, oh eah and I walked out with 250.00, we put 50.00 on the game. :o They were positive it was sure thing. Detroit put a whupping on yet another flawed team....definite improvement over past years when the flawed teams beat them. Mediocre is progress.

"Every time I think I'm out........they pull me back in"
That's pretty much what the Lions do to their fans. After a convincing blowout over Denver, they swagger on out to the west coast to "take care of a little biz" only to get pounded by a sub .50 team in the horrible NFC West.
That's 3 resounding butt-whoopings on the road this year. The problem with these guys is they think they're better than they are. They talk about humility, but they don't have it. They thought they could stroll out to Arizona, throw their hats on the field, and walk away with a win. It doesn't work like that in pro football.
I said it before the Denver game, I thought they'd be under .500 by the time we eat Thanksgiving dinner. I'm probably off by one game. They'll be 6 - 5.
