That's it for the boat for the year for me. I got up to the Petosky area for fish bringing my nephew up for the first time for some fishing, shooting, and ATV riding, which I've been swearing to do all summer. I have gotta do more stuff with this kid, and expose him the some extreme outdoor activities. Lets just say, he comes from one supreme jacked up family, with a couple of a-hole brothers, with one barely making it, and another a guest of Jennie and the state.
We managed to fight some wicked winds and slip in some trolling Tuesday on one of the most beautiful mornings I have ever seen before the wind picked up. We managed 3 walleyes fishing a quiet section of the lake for perch on Monday, catching them on perch rigs with minnows, and got a couple of walleyes trolling black and gold raps in 9 feet of water on Sunday.
The 3 day total was 8 walleyes, 2 keeper pike, and 4 perch. I have to give a shout out to "The Party Shoppe" on Ellsworth road near Pickerel lake. They have an honor system of minnows with a "help yourself" system, of "just throw the money in the door if were not open". Now that's my kind of place. With a buck a dozen minnows and help yourself, life is good.
The kid appreciated every moment of it, and I got to preach a little trying to explain the beauty of the outdoors.
